I am talked into a half marathon by Elizabeth Scott. I haven't run in years because of my knees. I visit and teach Elizabeth and she wants me to run with her instead of coming over and visiting her. I love to run as long as I can run with friends. Annette joined the running party soon after. I think I ended up running with Annette more than Elizabeth. I really love running with these classy ladies. Its amazing how you bond when you do very hard things together. I am running with several friends and really enjoying that time with them.

Here are all the seniors and the coaches. These boys have played together for years! We had never even heard of Lacrosse when these boys first picked up sticks 6 years ago. Spanish Fork City really stepped it up this time!! They had a parade waiting for these boys when they arrived back home from the victory. Ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars! It was loud and we were all amazed at the cities involvement in this victory! I love Spanish Fork City for this praise of the boys. They have worked s hard!!

I am a bit of a scatter brain when it comes to certain things. I have a hard time remembering anything concerning scouts. My brain just shuts off, it seems. We made it through putting off the construction of car 2 days before. I somehow completely didn't hear that the derby was an hour earlier than normal. I missed all his races, oh well! His car was there. We ended up making it in the end to take pics. I don't know how these middle children end up okay they are a bit neglected. I do love you Broden!!!

Why sweep at all when I see footprints, tear, precious!!

I am always behind on my errands, chores and responsibilities. I am being out witted by my little ones. I really should not try so hard to get everything done. I need to just sit back and enjoy the journey a bit more. I call this leaving things undone, I am so happy to leave life a bit undone. The dishes or laundry can wait! The ah ha moment for me is when I stop and let it go and enjoy the kiddos then I am truly at peace. So why punish myself stressing over every little thing? Life is to be enjoyed!! I am blessed more than most. Sorry everyone I have the best kids on earth!!! I am a lucky MOM! I need to remind myself of this because unfortunately I am not the wisest Mom at times. I can easily get way to caught up life!!

Its amazing how all these rolls we play can drain and build again and again but then a few hours with friends I am ready to face it all again. I am also a friend and when I make time for friends it fills my cup. I love my family most and enjoy all the rolls that I get to play every day. But lets face it we all need each other and time to be adults with other adults. I love and need my friends! We had this little luncheon at Annette's and I am ready to face it all again! Mckayla is 2! My baby is a little girl. We almost missed her b-day, I was caught up in the madness of a Saturday getting everything done. I saw someone write a date down, I being nosey told them they wrote the wrong date down. She then pulled out a calender and showed me the date. I am a LOSER its KK b-dayand after 2pm. I pulled it all together though in the end. Canceled my date with Todd and ran to the toy store and grocery store. We had an impromptu party with all that could be there I had already let Bree go to another party. We spoiled her a little extra than normal trying to make us feel better I guess. We always see Santa and let him know what we want for Christmas. We had lunch at the mall and saw Yogi Bear after. It was good times. I try so hard to make it fun for all ages, this is hard because of all the different ages. My kids always remind me that its just being together as a whole family that is the best. Broden even wrote about it in journal time at school. I guess it was a success for all.

Its truly a pleasure to see Ray, he makes us laugh. His ability to drink a coke in like 15 seconds is enough to make even my 2 year old giggle. He isn't afraid to do a Will Ferell burp you know like in ELF. Pretty impressive. Todd enjoyed a coke with him they bonded over soda, yuck! He is so sweet very excited to see us all. He wanted to go home to Hidden Hollow that was hard he's not liking his new place so much. I feel an overwhelming desire to spoil him we let him have 3 cokes and lots and lots of candy. Wow how old does that make me, don't do the math! I am so proud of Spencer if he didn't look like the rest of us I would swear he was switched at birth. He is such a stellar sun. He is my right hand right now with Todd in school and gone so much. He is preparing for a mission right now and talks about it with enthusiasm. He will be a great missionary. I really am kind of dreading him going. Having Asia leave us this summer its amazing how you feel their spirit leave the home. Dynamics of the family are changed, but I have to let go. I will have him for 19 years with me then he is on to face the world. He is ready ready for that next pinnacle move. I love you Spence thanks for being true to yourself! Eryn was freaking out about having to wear her pumpkin fairy costume. I went through all the other costumes that she could wear, and I have tons. She wasn't having it. I was about to dress her in her regular clothes when she saw her Cinderella leotard, she said she would put this one on. Boy what am I raising? We were barely done before the bus honked and you know what she looked darling. Eryn I will need chocolate to recover from the episode this morning but seeing you in your last minute make-shift ballerina costume was worth the stress.

Some trails are blessings in disguise. Eryn couldn't hear for awhile and I didn't know what was wrong for a long time. She was able to qualify for the Early Intervention Preschool with the local school district. She loves the school! Eryn gets to pack a lunch and ride the bus. You would think it would be hard for me to send her, but its not! I know she's in good hands and I get a small needed break from her exuberant energy.

Some days are magical and make every other day worth fighting throughout the trenches of laundry and dishes. I love Todd he is so sweet! Even though we are going away for a week in August. I wanted to get away for the day and night on our actual 20th. Its a tradition that we spend the day together on our anniversary. We have succeeded for 20 years keeping that tradition alive. Todd is a planner and loves to surprise me. He sacrifices a lot to do nice things for me, I am too lucky and am sure that I do not deserve it. I do not get a lot of time with Todd since he's gone back to school. It was so nice to have time with him ALONE! I love you soooo much babe.

I got to my weight goal! One of my wishes in dieting was to be able to fit into my wedding dress. It was hilarious! Its so an late 80's design. I was married in 1990. I came down the stairs expecting my family to die laughing. I sure was laughing but everyone was so shocked and super nice. Boy do I have them trained. Eryn called me a princess. The girls said my dress was beautiful. Todd was proud of me and said the dress looked to big now, ooo I love him!

Eryn you are such a joy! Love the way you talk, walk well run, and smile. You light up every room that you enter. Your little sis Mckayla thinks that you walk on water. You entertain everyone else in the house. You are loved, loved and loved.

You had such a fun day. We went to 7 peaks with Daddy. We had alfredo with shrimp for dinner.I made a pink cake with pink frosting. You were so spoiled with presents. How lucky you are to have three older brothers and sisters who have jobs and spoiled you with presents. Eryn you play with your brothers cars more than any other toy. So pink and white and purple cars were found for you. You have had at least one of them in your hand since your b-day. Coloring books and regular books. Doll stroller which Mckayla thinks is hers. The Passey's came into town on a week that we were all so busy. Everyone was in school including Todd. We pulled each child out for one day so they could spend a little extra time with their cousins. We found time to go to BYU and visit the bean museum. We had cousins over for play time and a big lasagna dinner. The Passey's sure liked the food. It was all over to soon. Love you Passey's.

I am so consumed with my tasks that I forget that the kids just need to be kids. Let them explore make messes and learn the way they need to, through experience and experiments. So I'm baking and I let the kids choose what they want to run there fingers through, measure and create. Well Logan and Eryn looked around the kitchen and wanted to play with flour. I am thinking are you sure? We could get out the play dough. Nope Mom we want that soft white stuff. I let them play and learn. It was quite the mess much worse than wheat flour but the smiles made it worth it.

Well we went on a much needed vacation. Todd and Asia came up for the weekend, and went home on Easter night. I stayed up at the condo until the next Friday. Ginger arranged the condos for our families. We didn't have to pay a dime. I love being with my family, my brother and sister are some of my favorite people on earth!. The cousins played and played and played. We went to the tree house museum in Ogden, the Zoo and just stayed in the condo and relaxed. We played cards and board games. Slept in as long as the babies would let us. We missed Todd and Asia but definitely not the phone, the computer and our crazy busy lives.

I am so excited I went sugar free for 1 month!!! I felt my body detox the 1st week. I was weak and had horrible headaches for four days and then I was just plain tired. The second week I started craving fruit. The third week I no longer craved sugars. I decided I am only going to have sugar on Sunday's. I was so out of control with sugars. I would eat desert every chance that I would get. I would try to wean off sugar but then I would cave. So cold turkey was the way for me. No one was willing to go sugar free in my home.I noticed if I ate less sugar so did the rest of my family. Okay sugar is like in everything!! A1 sauce, BBQ Sauce, mayo, salad dressings, ketchup, peanut butters, wheat thins, actually most crackers. I avoided high fructose corn syrup, all sugar substitutes. I did eat honey in my home made bread. So I did it, I went sugar free for 1 month!

Pinewood Derby

Broden was adorable to say the least, every detail enjoyed with an inner giggle.

There is something magical watching your kids enjoy something sincerely. It makes me enjoy it all the more.Todd is going on his sixth derby car that he is made so he lacks the enthusiasm that Broden does. Broden and Todd finished the car ran it to the drop off point the night before without any graphite on the wheels. At the derby Broden was not allowed to graphite the car thus he won the turtle award. Very last place. Todd was a bit worried that Broden would be upset about loosing every heat, but Broden surprised him by being thrilled about the award! Way to go Broden! Note: Todd did graphite the wheels after and compared times he would of have placed 5th. I'm personally glad about the graphite situation the trophy rocks!!

Spencer has so many talents he has always been so motivated to do sports. I have been on every type of field or court routing for Spence. So it was quite shocking when he decided to not do a sport this year outside of school. Spence is writing music, teaching himself the guitar and drums. He tried out for the school's Winter Drum Line. He made the line and does the symbols, after practicing for about two weeks prior to try out. Spencer is so amazing he is going to be 18 this year. I am so blessed to have his costant example in our home. Love you Spence your the best!!!!

Faerie Tea Party

Bree and Asia have been to many fairy tea parties with Grandma Larkin. Its Eryn and Mckayla's turn with Grandma. Little cookies, strawberries, chocolate covered pretzles, mini muffins, flower necklaces, and fairy wands. We walked the fariy prominade. We saw the frog king and fairy princess's dance. Real ballerina's twirl and visit each table. It was a magical tea party.

Somethings I can just get lost doing for hours and the kids well, they get a little ignored. Shocking! I checked on Mckayla and Eryn found them playing in the flour so reverently.I decided to just let them keep playing. They were so quiet and fascinated with the texture. They were entertained for forty-five minutes! What attention spans! It wasn't even hard to clean up.

Eryn always cleans up all the water that she gets on the counter.

Eryn has been going to a playgroup to help her learn. Its with Kids Who Count. Eryn was trying so hard to talk but nothing made sense. She kept engaging but it was a jumble of sounds. We found out that she was not hearing from a hearing test. I took her to an ENT and then there was a surgery for tubes in her ears and adnoids taken out. Eryn started this speech playgoup, the group is so darling. They sing and play games. They have snacks and do crafts. The best part all the kids are 2. It gets a little crazy but Mom's or Dad's stay to help.

I love my family they are so supportive. I really appreiciate all the times we get together. Ginger you are amazing, she planned the menu and made it all happen. Ginger then drove an hour to do the event at my house.Thanks sis love ya. Maya was much more into the party than Mckayla. Mckayla just played with her cake. While Maya had seconds on the cake. Maya loved the party hat and blowers, while Mckayla screamed and cried at either. Still Mckayla and Maya were so darling.

Wow have we been through extra-extra blessings this year. We are lovin' life and trying to keep up with our angels. I dont think I could of gotten through all life's experiences without Jesus Christ in my life. He reminds me why I do all the mundane tasks of daily living. He reminds me to be kind to my kids, and those who serve me daily everywhere I go. I see him in all of you serving others.I see him in you enduring through lifes challenges until the day when we will rejoyce and be able to be in his rest.He is my light and my life. I truly believe that we are all Heavenly Fathers children and that he knows and loves each one of us personally. He sent his son to save us from ourselevs. I know laundry will pile up and kids will spill milk and fight daily. But I am filled with love and warmth thinking and knowing who I am, where I am from and where I will again be someday. Enjoy every moment whether playing in the muddy moments of life or the shiny sparkly experiences. Love and peace to all this season!

I look forward to the Lueken Christmas party all year long. Its my favorite Christmas party. Everyone chips in and is a part of the planning and everyone chips in. We laugh and eat great food. We always have a white elephant party. If you get something to wear you have to try it on. We keep it very PG though, kid friendly. We really let our hair down and just enjoy being with eachother. I think its the first year that my Mom was able to make it to the bathroom with out peeing her pants from laughing so hard.

Isn't it amazing how you can have one idea in mind of the way things should go and then life happens. I am always amazed by these last three kids of mine, if you had asked me six years ago I would of told you I was done my family is complete. I have enough on my plate. I am out of control busy and can hardly keep up as is. Here I am with seven children and not much has changed. I still cant keep up, I am still out of control busy, but I am so much happier than I ever thought possible. Life works out for the best for each of us. I love my honey Todd and I love my children they are my drug of choice, I am completely addicted!

Every once in a while there is just so much joy in my heart I could just burst. I am so blessed. I am not rich with worldly possessions. I cant afford the nicest clothes or trips to some beach somewhere. I can't take my kids to Disneyland or Sea World. We couldn't even fit into one car. But I know that stuff is just fluff and not necessary. We play games, visit family, camp, eat great home cooked meals and enjoy veging together. We are all healthy and happy. I could not ask for more. I know I am very blessed from God. Love to all.

Logan can be so expressive. His faces crack me up! His lip can curl so many different directions, its hilarious. I love this little boy. He tells me spontaneously that he loves me all the time. I have always wanted an herb garden. I love cooking with fresh herbs. I also like plants that are useful. Which is completely different then what Todd wants. I have used the spearmint, parsley and rosemary the most. I am enjoying basil, oregano and marjoram a lot. I hope to figure out how to grow cilantro. I have felt such a peace enjoying my flagstone patio and gardening with my herbs. Its relaxing not work.

Spencer did it! I am a proud mama. It was a very special evening Ty Singerman and Trevor Topham also received there Eagle Awards. Ty and Trevor are top notch boys thanks for your priceless friendship with Spence. A lot of family came and supported Spencer, thanks to all! Grandma Powell made the most beautiful scouting quilt for Spencer. It became the background for pictures for the night. Spencer's project was in Provo Canyon he helped establish a hiking trail. Scouting teaches our sons strong character values through hands on experience. The time that Spencer has put into scouting is precious. Spencer uses his scouting experiences everywhere he goes. I am a big fan of the scouting program I feel it is an investment in future fathers and our communities. Any time spent working with a boy will come shining through in our cities and neighborhoods. Spencer chose Brother Don Kipp as his mentor. Don Kipp is a wonderful family man who is successful and has a strong testimony of the gospel. Brother Kipp has spent many hours helping Spencer nurture his strengths. Todd gave a heartfelt tribute to Spence. So rare do we get to Honor our children for the good things they accomplish. It was a very building experience for Spencer, Ty and Trevor.

Logan

Logan had a surgery on his penis and bladder. He has really struggled to aim into the toilet. It has been quite the struggle. Dr. Snow found skin flaps at the opening of the bladder. He had to remove the flaps (blockage) to allow free flow. Logan will need to wear a catheter for awhile, he will then need to relearn to pee. I am so grateful for modern day medicine and finally finding a problem and that it was treatable. Logan you were so brave!
Pre-surgery Dad is so great with Logan he is really calm.

There are so many toys for Logan to play with. Primary Children's is the most amazing hospital all children should be able to come here for help.

It just pulls on a mothers heartstrings to see her child in the hands of a stranger.
Logan is out of surgery and in the recovery room.
Logan finally wakes up. He was so sleepy, we really struggled to wake him.

Its our anniversary!
It's been 19 years, July 20th. We met in in St.George we were both in the same Student Ward, both going to Dixie College, and worked at the St. George Care Center. We would switch halls at work so we could be by each other, then we were on opposite halls again. Todd liked me the first moment we kissed, asking me what kind of toothpaste did I use. We became best friends right away. Seven kids and nineteen years later we have made a wonderful life together full of priceless memories. Oh and I still LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM, AND LOVE HIM SOME MORE!!!!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a nice weekend. Friday night Asia graduated and we had family over for a chocolate fountain. Saturday we relaxed and cleaned the house and had a BQ with the fam. Sunday we went to the Canyon all day rode four wheelers and BQ with the Lueken's. Eryn was a maniac on the four wheeler. The boys played frisbee golf. The girls went on a hike and took a million pics. Monday we had another BQ with the Powell's.

Well the last week of school Asia announced that she did not test out of two of her classes. She did 15 missing cooking assignments, a packet on the constitution and two last minute tests in three days. I just laugh at all of this how did she leave this until the last minute. She is so much like me, I am last minute Laura. I am so proud of her for sticking with it this year. She is very smart and will go far. We went to Kyler's BQ before the graduation. The ceremony was short and sweet, outside on the football field. We had a chocolate fountain running and lots of yummy things to dip in it. A lot of family came and supported her. Many thanks to all.

Spencer got asked to Sadie Hawkins by our adorable neighbor Alex. They are great friends it was a no stress date. They went to the park and had paint fights. Went to the dance and actually danced, not something done much in this generation. Then off to a fire pit to roast marshmallows for smores. Thanks Alex he had such a perfect time!

I have a pretty full schedule doing what seems mundane things all day long. I need to write these things down as a way of therapy, and also to remind myself that I accomplish a lot every day.
-I get Eryn down from the table that she is dancing on at least 10 times a day.
-I clean up spilled milk, juice, water at least 10 times a day.
-I redo Eryn's hair at least 10 times a day.
-I flush the toilet when its not been me who used it at least 10 times a day.
-I break up another sibling rivalry fight at least 10 times a day.
-I close the fridge after its been opened by some one else at least 10 times a day. Thank goodness for the door alarm.
-I scoop up a screaming baby/child at least 10 times a day.
-I say no to my kids at least 10 times a day.
-I start cooking or preparing a snack at least 10 times a day. A nibble here a nibble there no wonder I will always be chunky.
-I start another cleaning project bathrooms, laundry, dishes at least ten times a day.
-I change at least 10 diapers a day.
-I tell Logan to stop peeing on other peoples yard at least 10 times a day, he has the bladder of a little puppy.
-I drive a child to some important event at least 10 times a day.
-I receive e-mails with something I have to do, but I really don't want to do at least 10 times a a day.
-I wipe Eryn's snotty nose at least 10 times a day.
-I pick up a mess from each child at least 10 times a day.
-I get all the balls and toys off the neighbors yard at least 10 times a day, sorry Ryann.
-I turn off the tv that no one is watching at least 10 times a day.
-I tell the kids to get off of the computer at least 10 times a day.
-I pump breastmilk and make a bottle at least 10 times a day.
-I turn off a light that is on and no one is in the room at least 10 times a day.
You need to know I am laughing and love being there with the kids all day. I need to remember most of all the things I GET to do everyday the pay back is priceless.

I will not miss the spills, the diapers, the fights, the car pools and the messes. I will miss the silly reactions to the messes, the ut oh's in a two year old voice. The I love you in a barely audible voice from a one year old. The cooing of baby trying to engage. The wet sloppy open mouth kisses. I will not ever miss the laundry but I will miss seeing the outfits go from baby clothes to clothes of a 17 year old. Those outfits are associated with such fond memories. I will forever miss the kids at certain stages.

Spencer Lacrosse

Spencer and his lax stick. If you see Spencer other than on a Sunday at church he has a weird looking stick with a net on the end of it. And it's not for catching butterflies. He plays Lacrosse with the Spanish Fork Warriors. It is a very big commitment. Practices monday - friday. Two to three games a week during the fall and spring seasons. Spencer absolutely loves playing. Lacrosse can be very violent looking sport. A great way to stay physically fit. Way to go Spence I love watching you play. He is number 5. His new hobby is adjusting his nets on his stick, this takes hours and hours of time.

Asia Graduating

Asia, Asia, Asia Marie my little girl is graduating. I remember bringing her home from the hospital, and her crying all night long. Running up and down my stairs when she was six months because that made her smile. And I loved to see her smile. Long hours at the park, trips to the zoo, swimming on hot summer days. Hours and hours of reading Dr. Suess cuddling on the couch. Mixing cookies up with her, she would have a little apron on, sneaking the dough when she thought I wasn't looking. The smell of fresh baked goodies and her excitement to share them with me. Laughing so hard together that we would cry. So many memories fill up my mind. Asia curled up in a corner somewhere in the house stealing some time away to read just one more chapter in her book, instead of doing her chores. Dance performances, choir, drama, soccer, softball and young women programs. First day of kindergarten, first day of junior high, first day of high school. Oh where has the time gone? Your time as a child is over. Your future is bright, you are talented beyond measure. Asia I love you just the way you are forever and ever.
